What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
My favorite animated show is Avatar: The Last Airbender.
What is your favorite children's book?
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - as a child it captured my attention and imagination
What was your favorite childhood toy?
Before I was introduced to video games, I enjoyed playing with LEGOs often.
Who is your greatest inspiration?
There are many persons that have provided inspiration over my many years. Barack Obama is of mention, as I relate to the fact that he was not born into wealth. He studied, he took loans for school, he worked hard and made something of himself. This too has been my path in life, albeit of much less importance than the POTUS.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
My main hobby is Jiu Jitsu and if I have free time apart from training, I like to play video games.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
I am a family nurse practitioner and I spent 12 years of my nursing career as a bedside nurse caring for adults in many areas of the hospital. I have learned since becoming a nurse practitioner the fun and rewarding aspects of caring for the pediatric population. It is of utter importance to ensure optimum health from a young age to reduce adult health risks.
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
As my patients know I am patient and listen during consults. I value obtaining information on my patient's health history to understand how I can better assist them.
How do you accommodate patients with special needs?
In general our clinic is accommodating to most needs. We have the ability to use video/audio interpretation services for almost any language and ASL and our clinic is ADA compliant.
