Q&A with Noelia
What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
My favorite animated movie is All Dogs Go to Heaven
What is your favorite children's book?
Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein because I remember the whimsical poems still from this book. It was my favorite book to read and recite while in Elementary School.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
Paddington Bear. My bear went everywhere with me!
Who is your greatest inspiration?
My parents. Watching them sacrifice so much so they can provide for their 5 children always inspired me to continue to be a better person for my family.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I love trying new restaurants, reading, and spending time with my family and my two spoiled dogs. During football season, my family and I cheer on the Dallas Cowboys at their home games.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
Family medicine drew me in because it allows me to take care of patients across all stages of life. As a nurse, I saw how impactful it was when patients had a provider who knew their story and not just their diagnosis. Family medicine gives me the ability to focus on education, prevention, and holistic care while growing alongside my patients and their families.
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
I combine strong clinical skills with a compassionate, patient centered approach. I build rapport with patients and their families by actively listening, communicating clearly, and involving them in care decisions.
How do you accommodate patients with special needs?
I am mindful of sensory, cognitive, and mobility needs and adjust my approach to ensure each patient receives safe, respectful, and effective care.
